SALES OF THE MONTH
BATH AND BODY RECIPES OF THE MONTH
Bath Bomb Recipe
Baking Soda 2/3 parts
Mix, Mix, Mix the baking soda and citric acid. It is very important to mix both these very well as to not get a grainy bomb. Once its has mixed well add your color, add color lightly as the witch hazel will make color show up. Next add your fragrance oil to your personal nose preference. With a squirt bottle add the witch hazel in your batch while continiuing to stir with your other hand. When your batch starts to stick together when squished you need to start putting it into molds. Time is important, if you wait to long your batch will get hard. If too much witch hazel is added your bomb will start to fizz. Place the batch in molds wait a couple of minutes and tap them out. Let bombs air dry for about 3 to 4 hours. The harder you pack the bombs the denser and more durable they will be.
Herbal Skin Toner
Part 1
2 Tbsp. dry herbs or 3 handfuls of fresh herbs
2 cups of boiling pure spring water
Remove from heat and let sit for 1-2 hours to cool and steep. If you are using roots, decoct them seperately then blend it in the herbal infusion. Avoid boiling herbs (leaves, flowers). Bottle and refrigerate your herbal infusion.
Part 2
1/2 Cup of Cooled Herbal Infusion
Mix together and apply to skin.

Dear Robert,
I am so confused about Essential Oils what are they for and how are they made?
Debbie
Dear Debbie,
Essential oils are used in soaps, lotion base, shower gels, perfume formulations. Essential Oils are highly concentrated and potent oils extracted from plants, leaves, flowers, roots, buds, twigs, rhizomes, heartwood, bark, resin, seeds and fruits. Essential Oils are found in special secretory glands or cells within plant life. The aromatic substances are formed and stored in certain organs of a plant as a by-product or because of its metabolism. Each essential oil has it's very own blueprint that is absolutely unique. The combination of the plants blueprints, the energy of the sun, soil, air and water gives each oil its individual perfume and beneficial healing properties.

Dear Robert,
I am going to venture into the world of mini tart molds. What is the correct wax I need to use for these. Can I use either the Taylored Container or Taylored 50/50 wax in these molds.
Kari
Dear Kari,
That is a good question these two types of waxes are for container candles and not for tart molds. For any type of mold you need wax that will get very hard to help it release from the mold you are using. The Taylored Container, Taylored Replacement, and 50/50 are made to have good adhesion to the sides of jars. They are great if you are doing tealight but now for tart molds. For tart molds I recommend you use our Taylored Votive or our Palm Votive and Pillar Wax. Both these waxes become hard and are easily taken out of the molds.
Dear Robert,
I am doing the perfume formulations and do not really understand the percentages. Can you explain this to me??
Andrea
Hello Andrea,
Our recipe suggest you use different percentages depending on what you are trying to do. We have the following. Next to each I will give you the oz based on a 16oz bottle of finished product.
Perfume:
20% Soap Safe Fragrance Oil 3 oz .
10% IPM (iso propyl myristate) 1 1/2 oz.
70% Perfume Alchohol 11 1/2 oz.
Men's Cologne:
10% Soap Safe Fragrance Oil 1 1/2 oz.
10% IPM (iso propyl myristate) 1 1/2 oz.
80% Perfume Alchohol 13 oz.
Body Splash/Spray:
80% Perfume Alchohol 13 oz.
I hope this helps
Robert...
